Midtown Drug Take Back Event

October 23 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Safely dispose of your unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs at our Drug Take Back Event!
This semi-annual Drug Take Back Day is held in partnership with the KCPD Central Patrol Division, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, KC Parks, and Midtown KC Now.
The drugs will be taken for safe disposal and the containers will be recycled.
All drugs, prescription or over-the-counter, are welcome.
(If you will be disposing of syringes, please be sure they are in a safe container that states that there are needles in the container before they are handed over.)
This service is FREE, absolutely no questions asked.
When prescription or over-the-counter drugs are thrown into the garbage or flushed down the sink or toilet, their chemical components may be added to the water supply or soil. The presence of these substances in the environment is becoming an important national and international issue.
Although the concentration levels of these products in the environment may be very low, they may be enough to have adverse effects on the environment and human health through cumulative, long-term exposure.
In four of Kansas City’s own streams and rivers, there have been measurable traces of over-the-counter drugs appearing in the water supply.
Help protect yourself, others, and the environment by participating in this semi-annual event.
